FIM Protocol provides public working-identity metadata, profile resolution, and collaboration guidance identified by stable FIM handles or FIM-IDs.
FIM does not warrant or claim that two AI sessions are literally the same hidden process, internal agent instance, or runtime. A FIM profile is a portable working identity specification.
FIM does not override the policies, safety systems, permissions, access controls, model limits, or tool restrictions of an AI host.
AI outputs may be incomplete or wrong. Users should independently verify high-stakes information before relying on it.
Public profile metadata may change by version. The FIM-ID and version identify the profile release being resolved.
The reference implementation and hosted service may evolve as features are added. Public documentation and policies may be updated accordingly.
